REINING

Throughout the history of Americas, a horseman needed a quick & nimble horse that could be controlled by legs and weight, with only a light touch on the reins, so that the rider could focus on handling the lariat. Demonstrations of these characteristics evolved into the competitive sport of reining.

WESTERN PLEASURE

A Western style of riding evaluates a horse on manners, temperament and suitability for a relaxed, collected gait cadence – along with calm and responsive disposition. Horses possessing the strong muscling required to sustain slow controlled movements are the most competitive. The horse appears to be a "pleasure" to ride

OUR STORY

7M Ranch, formerly known as Blue Ribbon Farm, was owned by four time Hall of Fame quarter horse breeders Greg & Mary Whalen, and is where their famous halter horse stud, Smooth Town, stood for many years. The Whalens created one of Northern California’s premier horse farms, having bred or shown over 40 AQHA world champions throughout their career. They purchased the property in 1962 with a vision for the future, when all that stood was a house on a dirt knoll.

As the new custodians of this beautiful ranch with a remarkable history, the 7M Ranch Team is building on the Whalen's legacy by creating the best training and boarding facility in the west.
